USA 24: Intimidated by i305? Kings Dominion

I know it’s not called I305 anymore, but Project 305 sounds rubbish! Join for another busy and cred filled day! With fourteen to get, it was going to be a busy one!  We started with Flight of Fear 625: I was surprised at how much I actually liked this coaster. The launch was pretty good and it was smooth!  Moving swiftly on, Tumbili 626:  I find these an acceptable level of disgusting, they’re a bit gross but nothing compared to a Zac Spin.  Reptilian 627:  A bobsled! These things are fun and rare! This one seemed really slow.  Anaconda 628:  My Anaconda don’t, my anaconda don’t, my anaconda don’t want none unless you’ve got creds hun. Yeah, it wasn’t great. Was showing its age.  Backlot Stunt Coaster 629:  This was ok, nothing overly special. A decent family coaster for sure.  Next I found a drink I’d never had before:  Was actually good! Very lemony and refreshing! Right enough of that, back to coasters!  Project 305 -...

A Mystery Pub Tour? But Not Everywhere We Are Going Is A Pub?

On a rare Saturday without plans, I decided to join the Cambridge CAMRA mini bus trip around some rural pubs. I’d been one of these trips before, they’re fun and you get to places you’d normally have to drive to. Usually the route is kept secret, but I’d seen the game plan. As usual, I didn’t take enough photos. Let’s get started!  We started at an old favourite of mine, The Sun Inn, Waterbeach. You’ve certainly heard of this pub if you read Retired Martin’s excellent blogs!  A cask lager! In the wild! A rare but welcomed beer option. This was brewed by Adnams with Utopian and was delicious. A real contender for beer of the day.  Our next stop was only half a mile away, which is just enough time for me to consume two mini beef pasties. The Taps, rather confusingly, isn’t a brewery tap. There are two brewery taps in Waterbeach, both were closed on this day. Formerly called The Brewery Tap, The Taps has undergone a significant refurbishment and is now much improved i...

USA 24: A Big B&M Plus A Beer Festival! Am I Dreaming At Busch Gardens Williamsburg?!

I was so excited for this one! Having loved my visits to the sister park in Florida, I was excited to see the other Busch Gardens park. Home to some amazing looking coasters and a beer festival, I really felt like I was in my element.  Not a bad car park view! The park opens into a UK area This park used to be called Busch Gardens Europe and its lands were themed to different European countries. The theming is pretty much still there, luckily the Bavarian area remains!  We decided to grab the kiddie cred first. Grover’s Alpine Express 615:  Plus one and done! We continued round the park and found Tempesto 616:  I remember really disliking Tempesto’s sister coaster, Tigris, but I didn’t mind this. A pleasant surprise! Next up was one of the biggest surprises of the trip!  DarKoaster 617 The concept of this ride is mad! It started life as a dark ride, which got removed and a coaster was shoved into the castle. I’ve never heard this coaster mentioned, but it’s hone...
