France 26 Part 1 - Plus 1s and Bellewaerde

Hello and welcome to another blog series! Join the dream team of Aaron, Liz and myself as we drive around France and a little bit of Belgium in the name of coasters!  We start in Essex as I drive to Aarons to hop into his van and head down south to pick Liz up, ready to catch the train over to France. As you can see, myself and Aaron managed to match outfits!  As soon as we drove off of the train we headed straight for a fair in Calais. If you’ve read one of my coaster blogs before I’m sure you can imagine the delights that lay ahead.  837: Start as you mean to go on, plus one! 838: La Souris  This was actually interesting because it’s weird but it wasn’t good. It was rough and the seat almost ended up inside me.  There was a third coaster (Dragon) at this fair but it was closed, so we grabbed a pint, a pizza and left!  Best fair pizza I’ve ever had! I asked for a pils but was given a 7% Belgium beer instead, what was the universe trying to tell me? ...

Winter Wonder Bland! Christmas Coasters In Norwich!

There can’t be many places in the UK that don’t have some sort of winter wonder bland event. I say bland because that’s what they are, most are full of the same over priced tat and pretended German sausages. If you’re lucky they might have a cred. Norwich has three coasters at their event this year! I needed two of them and Aaron need all three, so we headed down there.  Now before I sound too negative, we visited on a wet and cold Monday evening. That probably explains why the place was empty and all the staff were pretty miserable. Anyway, onto the coasters! We started with a ride on the spinning mouse (110):  A decent spinning mouse, amongst the many others I’ve ridden! Speaking to staff, they didn’t seem sure if the other two coasters would open. Therefore we opted to get some food. There were a few options, but we both chose the roast option.  Eating it was a messy affair but it tasted alright! Beer was (I assume) a pretend German beer. The tent you eat in had...

I Accidentally Dressed As My Cocktail! London Xmas Drinks!

It was time for the coaster friends Xmas event! The event was actually in November, but I’m posting this in December so let’s pretend it was actually in December. With the Kings Cross line shut, we headed to Liverpool Street. After meeting Jordan, it was time for the annual visit to Winter Wonderland (Hyde Park). The only coaster we needed was Scenic Railway (757)! Plus one and done! We were in and out, how efficient!  The officially meet time was 1pm, so we had time for a walk and some pubs beforehand. City Of Quebec was nearby and we headed there. Plastic glasses only for some reason. I wasn’t ready for a Guinness, so had a Madri: We decided to walk closer to the official meet point and found The Coach Makers Arms along the way. What a lovely pub!  I had Double Diamond, a pale, from Allsopp’s. Easily beer of the day and one of the best pales I’ve ever had!  Our official meet was at The Fitzrovia, a pretty bog standard Greene King pub.  The Guinness was decen...
