Asia Adventure 25: Universal Beijing - A Water World That Features Stella

Universal Beijing was one of the parks that I was most looking forward to on this trip. The park is rumoured to be similar to what we can expect to find at Universal Great Britain (Bedford) when it eventually opens. WARNING THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!!! The temperature was in the mid 30s so I’m glad that person wore a coat As you exit the metro station you’re spat straight onto City Walk. We decided to grab some breakfast and much needed coffee. I hate tomato  Breakfast eaten we joined a huge queue to enter the park and hoped that it wasn’t a sign of things to come. Chaotic  But it was as the park was very busy.  The rush We headed straight for Decepticoaster (773). Launched! Could have smiled for the photo mate Decepticoaster is the same ride layout as The Hulk (I think) at Universal Studios Florida. I thought that it rode better than my last ride on Hulk as this was glass smooth. A decent coaster but not one that would trouble a top ten list. We then headed round to ...

Asia Adventure 25: Happy Valley and Culture!

Welcome back to the Asia Adventure series! This is the third instalment of the series and also the third time that I’m spoiling you with culture! We pick things up at Happy Valley Beijing, another park with its own metro station!  The first thing you see upon entering the park is Extreme Rusher, a massive air launched coaster that hasn’t operated since 2014. Thankfully some coasters were operating.  768: Family Inverted Coaster Long time Beer Moose readers will know how much I love Inverted coasters made by Swiss manufacturer B&M (not the shop), as you’ve worked out from the name this is a tame and family friendly version of that model. It was a decent ride back row and had some good forces.  B&M make the best inverted coasters. Smooth, forceful and full of interesting elements. Dutch company Vekoma also make Inverted coasters and they are the opposite of everything I just said! Nevertheless, 769: Golden Wings Over The Snowfield  A name that just rolls...

Asia Adventure 25: Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park and +1s!

Welcome to the second Asia Adventure blog! Apologies to the beer fans reading this as there isn’t going to be much about beer! If you stick around you’ll get to see some of my shame though, arguably that is much better than reading my beer takes.  The first park of our trip was Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park. It’s super easy to get to as it has its own metro stop. We arrived just before opening and were virtually the only people around. You pay a fee to enter and then also have to pay per ride with a card system. My credit card company are currently enjoying trying to get me a refund from this park. It’s a long story.  Whilst we waited for the park to open we checked out the information boards and enjoyed the excitingly named coasters that awaited us. No time for an unknown journey  I was excited for overlapping rollercoaster  With the park now open we headed towards our first cred!  761: Space Pulley Choo choo! Space Pulley is quite the name for mine...
