Mark Bonner: Thank You!

Leader, role model, Cambridge United fan and legend, there’s so many words that I could use to describe Mark Bonner. Legend is term thrown around all too often these days, but for Mark Bonner legend is perhaps not enough. Every Cambridge fan can look back on many fond memories created by Bonner, he is one of us. I’ve never met Mark yet he reconnected the club and the fans in such a way that, I felt like I was part of the club’s journey. I have a bittersweet feeling, I feel it was time for Bonner’s reign to end but it didn’t end the way I had hoped. This is probably the first time I have felt sad about a manger departing.  Mark Bonner has lived my dream. He’s gone from fan (in the Habbin!), to academy coach, to academy manager, to assistant head coach and finally to head coach. He’s openly spoken about writing about Cambridge United at school and watching from the Habbin as an eight year old. Coincidently, I also started watching Cambridge United aged 8 and from the Habbin. Mad In Madrid Part 3: The Bars - My Excellent Shirt Choice Makes Me Look Like A Tiki Bar Waiter

Madrid turned out to an excellent city to drink in! I was tasked with finding good beer places for post theme park drinks! I feel like I did a great job, if I do say so myself. As well as beer places, we discovered some incredible cocktail bars. Let’s get to it!  CLBM Bar:  The beer was an impressive mix of local Spanish and international craft beers. I never expected to find a Spanish made keg mild, but Cierzo Brewing Co has brewed a great modern take of a traditional style. Brews from craft big boys, Lervig, went down a treat! It was a good place to introduce the non beer drinkers of the group to a range of different beer styles.  Hawaiano Mauna Los:  I think this was my first Tiki bar! I did go for a beer first, but later realised I needed to have a cocktail!  First tiki bar and my first mojito too! I really enjoyed trying something different. Went I went to find the facilities, someone tried to give me their drinks order. Here’s the shirt I was wearing, would you assume I work in

Horsing Around: The Blackhorse Beer Mile

Dan, friend of the blog, decided to have a birthday. Beers were the order of the day and there was a beer mile that none of us had done before. Well Tom had done it before, but he’s probably been to every pub in London! I was interested to see how this smaller beer mile would compare to the legendary Bermondsey Beer Mile. Before sampling any beers, the Cambridge crew had to do battle with a replacement bus, oh the joy! Bus battle won, we waited for the Bedford crew to arrive. After the required awkward introduction for people who hadn’t met before, we did the short walk to our lunch venue.  Texas Joe’s Hi, I’m Dan and this is my first drink I think I’ve found my new favourite London restaurant! This place is incredible! Firstly, the staff and service was flawless. Secondly, the venue is quirky and fun. Thirdly, the food. Probably the best BBQ food I’ve ever had! Look at it! Get in my face Fries not pictured, they were amazing too! There was also a decent range of beer on tap, I opted
