Beer Moose

 Join me for another pub trip around Manchester! We will swing by some old favourites and potentially make some new ones! Really this is part one of the three part series, but part two is already released so let’s get to it! I headed straight for Track as soon as I made it off of the train at Manchester Piccadilly. Track is one of my all time favourite taprooms! I opted for the Aspern and Navigator. Aspern is a Vienna style lager and was really nice. Navigator is an Irish Dry style stout and whilst it was ok, I found it a bit sweet for my taste. Beers dispatched it was time for a trip round the corner to another old favourite!  Sureshot is another brilliant taproom! What Did I Say Roy? A west coast pale that really hit the dream spot of lingering bitterness and refreshment. We didn’t have far to go for the next pint!  Balance Taproom is almost next door to Sureshot!   Welcome to the first instalment of a three blog series from the Northwest! I had a great weekend, football aside, visiting Manchester, Wigan and Stockport. This should really be the second part of this series, where’s the fun in doing things in the correct order?  We made the short train journey from Manchester to Wigan. Rach had found us a bakery to grab a pie or Wigan Kebab but I was distracted by a sign saying taproom. We had time so called in for a beer! Except  what we actually did was walk into a pub, rather than the planned taproom!  Wigan Central was great! A pint and lime soda cost £4!  The US Session was crisp, fresh and super tasty! A 10/10 pint. As we enjoyed our drinks I had a renewed sense of optimism that Cambridge were going to win today. We started making our to the ground and stopped at the bakery Rach found for lunch.   Ah Peterborough, a place frequently voted as one of the top three worst places to live in The UK and home to my least favourite football team. It would actually be quite easy to write a blog sticking the boot into one of my least favourite places, but I won’t do that. Let’s focus on the beer instead.  A pre planned stop on the way home from Lincoln, Peterborough has some decent places. The first of which is The Blind Tiger. The Blind Tiger is a proper craft place, it’s great! I had Sports Mode from Silent Brew Co and it was lovely! I also really love the seating at The Blind Tiger. Suspended seats! From here we made the short walk to The Stoneworks Bar for a first visit! Small but mighty! We opted to go straight for Impys from Scandinavian Brewers Amundsen and Dugges.
