USA 24: Christmas In June? Tedious - Holiday World

Those who know me, know that I have no interest in Christmas or any other holidays really. I have no need to make effort for them and would rather work them. In the last ten years I’ve been off at Christmas twice. What on earth was I going to think to a theme park themed to Holidays? Feels like two worlds at opposite ends of my spectrum colliding!  Turns out, it is a really nice park. We started with Legend (685). I got to ride it twice during our visit, both front row! It was really smooth, fun and had awesome lateral forces.  Next was Raven (686). Raven is the shortest of the wooden coasters here, but is still good fun. I enjoyed how it races through the woodland!  Next up was the big one! Voyage (687). It’s insane. We rode it several times and I just couldn’t remember the layout! I loved it! I did think it was best at the front, at the back it was slightly rough. The first drop is something else at the front!  The park’s newest coaster, Good Gravy! (688) was next. Yet another tedi

USA 24: Forget The Kentucky Derby, It’s The Kentucky Cred Run!

Situated next to the Kentucky State Fair Ground, this former Six Flags park is home to five coasters. The cred buffet looked alright, there’s an RMC and a big Chance Rides coaster. Let’s get to it!  Decent view from the car park:  We headed straight for Lightning Run (680). A rare Chance Rides Hyper Coaster, despite not being tall enough to officially class as a hyper coaster!  It was fine. There was some airtime and some decent drops. Moving on!  Kentucky Flyer (681), a family wooden coaster.  Cool trains!  Decent for what it is,  it nothing overly special.  I saw the above walking to the next coaster, can think of a few people who should live there!  It was RMC time!  Storm Chaser looks a lot better than it actually is. It’s slow and surprisingly rough. Didn’t enjoy it. We grabbed the plus 1, Roller Skater (683).  Followed by Thunder Run (684) which is probably the best (least worst) coaster in the park. A quick cred run, where none of the coasters will live long in my memory. We t

USA 24: Moonshine Fuels The Wacky and The Weird. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg!

It was a rough morning. I’m not saying that some of us stayed up until 3am drinking beer in the hot tub, but that might have happened. Still, we’re not quitters and had a full day planned! Let’s go!  Thankfully there is no evidence of what I may have looked like if I stayed in the hot tub, drinking beers until 3am.  Oh I guess a BBQ would help?  Turns out that BBQs do help! What a place to have one too! Looking out across the Smokey Mountains, watching for bears. Our house was amazing:  We then made the short drive to The Island area of Pigeon Forge, where a real delight awaited us.  Long time readers, are you as bored of seeing these as I am of riding them? Still, Spinning Parrot (677). Harry and I then decided to do a Moonshine Tasting, at Olde Smokey Moonshine. Where the magic happens. Blue Raspberry, very sweet Orange Cream, like orange cough mixture In total we tried 8 different flavours of Moonshine. I purchased a bottle of Blue Flame, which is 64% ABV or 128% proof. A lady on
