The final day of our adventures in Ireland and Northern Ireland. After a big Chinese takeaway, some average Northern Irish beers and some more Guinness we headed out to find breakfast!

One of the locals wanted to come in |
I hadn’t been to one of these since Carlisle away, last year!
Decent coffee and a decent fry up! We had a busy day ahead and this was needed!
We then drove to the causeway. The weather was really taking a turn for the worst. We arrived at the causeway and were immediately asked if we had booked, we hadn’t, but luckily half the group were National Trust members. We therefore gained free parking but had to go into the visitor centre to get a ticket. The truth about the causeway is that it’s completely free to visit, you don’t need a ticket, you can just walk past the visitor centre, through the tunnel and then either walk down the hill or take the bus (£1 each way). We opted to walk down, despite the elements! I’m glad we did, the view was great!
The walk took us around fifteen minutes and then we were at the causeway.
Even during this awful weather, the causeway was busy. There were lots of coach tours, which is never a good sign unless you like faffy people.
We got the bus back up the hill, where things turned disappointing. We fancied a coffee but were denied entry twice to the visitor centre, as we didn’t have tickets. It seems you need a £17 ticket to access the coffee shop, shop and toilets. Our two National Trust member friends went into the visitor centre to see the museum and reported back that it’s one room, with few things to look at. I can understand the overpriced entry fee to enter the rubbish sounding museum, but the coffee shop? Seems they don’t want the money. It’s also the way the staff act, they’re literally like bouncers. There’s no friendliness at all. Check out the google reviews for this place. The causeway is worth seeing, but don’t pay for it, it’s not worth it!
After being denied coffee, we drove to a nearby town in search of a drink.

A substantial cred? |
We had a bit of a drive to the next place, so we decided to check out some reviews of our next destination.
It looked like we were in for a treat!

A nice plus 2! We then headed back towards Dublin to find some dinner.
The Old Schoolhouse is a beautiful pub. I had a Guinness beef pie, it was amazing!
The Guinness was pretty good too, I nearly managed to split the G!
That marked the end of a great trip! Thanks for reading! It’s a busy time for the blog, I’ve got London Craft Beer Festival this Saturday, some more of America to write about and I haven’t even started Italy yet! Cheers!
