I know that I’ve got a long list, but Knoebels was a bucket list park for me. Phoenix is widely spoken about as one of the best wooden coasters out there. Legend states, the airtime is plentiful and relentless. Time to find out!
I’m going to save Phoenix for the end, so let’s start with Black Dimanond 595:
Part coaster, part dark ride and part mining accident showcase. Certainly an experience.
Impulse 596:
A euro-fighter style coaster, that’s arguably better than what it’s trying to imitate. Glass smooth and with comfortable restraints! Can’t ask for more than that.
Probably the best kiddie coaster in the world! This thing has airtime and some water interactions. A proper plus one!
Twister 598:
A pretty decent woddie, it clearly suffers by being massively in Phoenix’s shadow. Which brings me to…. Phoenix 594:
Phoenix became my number 1 wooden coaster! There’s no seat belts, only buzz bars, so the airtime is absolutely insane and there’s plenty of it!! We rode it eight times, across all seats. Row 4 seems to be magic row though, for some reason it has the best airtime! Including a double airtime moment on one hill!! Incredible coaster!
Sadly, we denied were Flying Turns, which had closed early for some reason. We were heading out, when we heard a thud and realised that our driver for the day (not me) had hit a planter. The planter was destroyed and the car was damaged to the extend that we swapped it. $50 lighter, planter repairs, we headed for dinner and a much needed beer at the on site restaurant.
Good food and a good range of beers! I opted for the lager, brewed by local brewery New Trail. Then we headed to the hotel, not before we took this awesome photo though:
Debut EP out soon.
We got to the hotel ahead of schedule and fancied a beer. A large petrol station was our only option…
This IPA was really nice!
Then it was bedtime, thank you for reading and I’ll leave you with this!
I'd buy your debut ep, and watch you support some Dutch angry popsters in the Blue Moon.
ReplyDeleteNB Sundown Adventureland near Retford is more my theme park level, though I did enjoy Duinrell in the Netherlands.
Haha thank you!
DeleteI’ve been to Duinrell!
